I call to Mut of ancient Khnum, Mut of the eight who have always been:
in the broad salt sea, in the summoning tide, we know you, O goddess,
we know you as we know our blood, as we know each beat of our heart.
O lady of creation, I call to you with praise and prayer.
I call to Mut of blessed Thebes, mother of the wandering one,
mother of the far-roving moon: as mothers and fathers we know
your blessing, we know your goodness, O gentle one.
O mother of mothers, I call to you with love and gratitude.
I call to Mut of long-lost Punt, land of gold dust and sweet scent,
land of beasts, land of the great gods, O lady of the lapis field:
we know you, goddess, in the beauty we behold in all the world.
O fairest of goddesses, I call to you with adoration.
Mut who holds earth and sky in hand, Mut whose vastness fills all there is,
O wise and noble goddess, wondrous one whose being is a goad
to the seeker: we know you, O goddess, in each day of our lives.
O queen of the heavens, I call to you with all devotion.
